Chapter Meeting NEWS:
After meeting in Rosamond for the past couple years, the Pete Knight Chapter Board meetings are moving back to Edwards AFB in May. Several years ago, we began meeing in Rosamond because of the problems getting non-retiree board members on to base. We got that problem solved but continued to meet in Rosamond. Due to a job change of one of our members, we're losing access to our normal venue in Rosamond. So - as of 25 May, our monthly board meetings will again be held at Club Muroc on Edwards AFB. Join us for our next meeting, 25 May, at 6PM.

CyberPatriot NEWS: CyberPatriot is a new program that was recently started to encourage students to develop their Cyber Warrior skills to help defend our Nation and Military from the emerging Cyber Threat. Cyber Warfare is a new critical mission area for the Air Force, and the Air Force Association (AFA) is committed to educating, advocating, and supporting the Air Force in this new area. Last year AFA and it's partners the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS), Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) and the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) conducted the first protype exercise CyberPatriot 1. This exercise was a HUGE success, and AFA and it's partners is just starting to expand the program to the national level. Eight teams were selected in mid-December 2009 for travel to the finals at Orlando, Florida, 18-19 February 2010, to compete at the AFA Air Warfare Symposium. See the link to the CyberPatriot I site (http://www.highschoolcdc.com) with all the latest information.
AFA Chapter 294's official newsletter is the "Knight's News". In late 2007 the High Desert Chapter and Pete Knight Chapter became "wingmen" Chapters. In 2008, we published a combined newsletter for the two Chapters. In 2009 after the High Desert Chapter restarted their own newsletter, we reverted back to "Knight's News".
